I would like to invite you to an educational presentation by UW-Extension Specialist Bill Rizzo on the topic of  “Building Community and Engaging the Public in Local Government”  (Especially when the issues are complex and/or contentious)

Bill Rizzo has over 20 years of experience helping Wisconsin communities and residents understand and employ the best methods and practices for generating effective dialogue and deliberation – especially when the issues are complex and contentious.

In this educational program, Bill will share his view of best practices and offer guidance on how best to engage and dialogue with the public.

For your convenience, the program will be delivered twice on Thursday, October 6.

–         First from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Jacksonport Town Hall

–         Again from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Nasewaupee Town Hall

Notice is hereby given that the Public Test of the Imagecast Evolution Voting System to be used at the August 23, 2016 Sevastopol School Board Recall Election, will be conducted on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 8 a.m. in the Jacksonport Town Hall, 3365 CTY V, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.

Parks Committee Member Needed

Jacksonport is seeking a Town of Jacksonport resident to fill a 3  year volunteer position on the 5 to 7 member Parks Committee. Per the Committee Bylaws and Rules, the Parks Committee shall provide oversight of activities occurring in the Town parks, and operate, maintain and improve the Town park system; coordinate the usage of Town parks and facilities for all festivals and ongoing regular usage; prepare an annual report on the activities and operations of the parks along with recommendations for future improvements; and prepare an annual budget for submission to the Town Board.  If interested, please submit an application consisting of a one page letter of interest stating why you would like to serve and a second page stating your qualifications, curriculum vitae, or experience relative to this position to Town Chairman, Randy Halstead at Town of Jacksonport, 3365 City Road V, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. Your application shall be in the office of the Town Clerk no later than Monday, August 29th, 2016.

INVITATION FOR BIDS – THE SALE OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME TO BE MOVED OFF THE PROPERTY AT 6282 Hwy 57, STURGEON BAY, WI

IN THE TOWN OF JACKSONPORT

Bids are Due by Noon on September 26th, 2016

 

 

 

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Town Clerk for the Town of Jacksonport at the Jacksonport Town Hall, 3365 Cty Rd V, Sturgeon Bay, WI, until noon on the 26th day of September 2016 for the sale of the single family three bedroom home, which is commonly referred to as the “Koulias House.” The home is located at 6282 Hwy 57, Sturgeon Bay, WI, in the Town of Jacksonport and must be moved off the property no later than December 31, 2016.

 

All bids received will be publicly opened at a properly noticed meeting of the Town Board. Each bid must contain the full name or names of the party or parties making the bid. Proposals shall be submitted in the bidder’s own sealed envelope and shall be marked “Offer to Purchase the Koulias House.”

 

A deposit, (see chart below), must accompany the bid. This amount must be by check, and is non-refundable to the successful bidder.

*If your bid is less than the deposit and you are the successful bidder, the difference will be applied to the performance deposit.

 

No bids may be withdrawn for a period of fifteen (15) days after the bid opening without the consent of the Town. The Town may reject any or all bids on any basis and without disclosure of the reason for the rejection. The Town Board also reserves the right to waive any formalities or informalities in bidding and to select the bid that, in its opinion, will best serve the interests of the Town.

 

Late bids will not be accepted under any circumstances. Any bid(s) received after the previously mentioned deadline will be returned to the proposing firm or individual unopened.

Resolution No. 5_2016 Amending Committee Bylaws and Rules (Parks Committee)

The following amendment to the Committee Bylaws and Rules was approved at the July 26th, 2016 meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Jacksonport.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Jacksonport does hereby amend the attached Committee Bylaws and Rules policy to increase the membership on the Parks Committee from a minimum of five to a maximum of seven members, and that going forward the Parks Committee shall consist of five or seven residents or four or six residents and one citizen member with recognized experience and qualifications related to parks management and improvement….with three year terms.

Notice of Public Test of Election Equipment

NOTICE OF PUBLIC TEST OF

ELECTION EQUIPMENT

FOR THE TOWN OF JACKSONPORT

 

Public Test, at the County level, will run from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016.

 

The Town of Jacksonport will do the required Public Test of the Election Equipment for the August 9th, 2016 Fall Partisan Primary Election for Congress and the Wisconsin Legislature beginning at 10 AM on August 3rd  in the Jacksonport Town Hall, 3365 County Highway V, Jacksonport, Wisconsin.
