Yes. No one shall start or maintain any open burning without a burning permit issued by the Fire Chief or a designee.

Are they required and what is the process?
State law requires all dogs over the age of 5 months be licensed by April 1 of each calendar year. To obtain a dog license, send original proof of rabies vaccination, registration form (see forms), and payment to Town Treasurer Carol Oram, 4273 County I, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. The dog tag(s) and your proof of vaccination will be returned to you.
Where do I register to vote?
You can register to vote by making an appointment with the clerk. The easiest place to register is myvote.wi.gov. You may also register to vote on the day of the election. Elections in Jacksonport are held at the Town Hall, 3365 County V.
How do I vote absentee?
If you are a registered voter in the town, you can vote absentee by completing an absentee ballot application and returning it along with a copy of valid photo ID to the Town Clerk. Election questions can be directed to [email protected].

Who do I contact regarding the purchase of a site?

Who do I call for police?
The Door County Sheriff’s Department provides law enforcement service in the Town of Jacksonport. If it is an emergency, call 911. For a non-emergency, call 920-746-2400.
Does the town have a public library?
No, but check out the “Little Free Library” boxes. One is in Lakeside Park; others are across from the park on Wisconsin 57 and along Lakeshore Road, south of the town core. A list of public libraries, locations and hours can be accessed at http://doorcountylibrary.org.
Who handles building permits, driveway permits and building inspections?

Where do I pay my property tax bill?
The Door County Treasurer collects all payments (1st installment, 2nd installment, or payment in full) for the Town of Jacksonport. Payments can be made in person at the County Government Center, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay, during business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or mailed to the address noted on your tax bill(s). Please include your payment stub to ensure posting to the correct tax account. All payments should be made payable to Ryan Schley, County Treasurer.
Does the town provide an opportunity to recycle?
Yes. The town offers recycling drop off at the Town Hall parking lot every second and fourth Saturday of the month. The hours are 10 a.m. to noon. If you prefer roadside pickup of your recyclables, please check with your garbage service.
Glass, tin, aluminum, steel, pastic, paper and cardboard can be commingled into one container. Please rinse all food-containing recyclable materials before placing in the bin. Recycles must be loose in the container (not bagged). Here is a link for specifics on what can and cannot be recycled.

Do I need a permit to offer vacation rentals in Jacksonport?
Yes. As established by Wisconsin State statute, local ordinance and the Door County Tourism Zone Intergovernmental Agreement, any innkeeper or other property owner offering transient rental (less than 30 days) must obtain a permit and collect 8 percent room tax. In order to better help property owners understand the requirements for transient rental in Door County, the DCTZC has a new video to assist in educating those who may be considering rentals or who may already be renting without a permit.

Our quarry is staffed and open on Saturdays beginning in May and ending in October, from 8:00am until 2:pm. Residents of Jacksonport may drop off leaves, grass clippings, brush, branches and other yard waste.
Jacksonport follows County Zoning, so any request for a conditional use permit, or variance, must go through the Land Use Department at the County and then they would forward the request to the town for review. After this, it goes back to the County for a decision. Please contact the County.
